Entertainment|Therapy Services
I am in my final semester of a Masters in Music Therapy and am passionate about providing entertainment and therapeutic services to aged-care residents for physical, social and mental well-being. I sing and play guitar and also work alongside my husband Graham Burns, an accomplished, multi-instrumental musician with years of performance experience.
Music has numerous benefits that can provide social opportunities for all residents and can support individuals to manage dementia, stroke recovery and those living with the impacts of Parkinson’s disease (Pavlicevic, 2015). The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety report (2023) recommended all aged care services provide on-site allied health professional services and specifically mentioned music therapists. As a music therapy facilitator, I provide high quality music and therapy services and it would be my pleasure to co-create music with members of your aged care community. Please contact me via the form below for more information.
