Let me tell you a story…about a fearless voice that was buried deep inside of me and found her way out through music. She is the reason I’m a storyteller and the reason I sing. She is my muse. The new album, To Home Seas, is dedicated to her. The songs penned through her are both dark and light, and have a healing quality to them that I’m sure will resonate with anyone who’s been in the trenches bravely facing their shadow side. Their lyrics are funny, moving, sad, fearless, honest, sensual, hopeful. They’ll take you on intercontinental adventures, romantic escapades, journeys of belonging and into some quieter, more secret places, touching on taboo subjects like abuse (as part of the bittersweet kaleidoscope of life). These songs are for anyone who can resonate with a journey of recovery and feel the power of healing that can come from self expression. I have a strong interest in the voice and songs/lyrics and their power to convey a story.
