Bio
Behiye (Be) Suren is an Australian born singer/songwriter based between Sydney and Istanbul. Her original fusion folk music (in English and Turkish) weaves the rhythms and melodies of her two homelands with sensual, earthy lyrics about love, identity and ancestry. Her velvet voice is rich and heart opening.
Behiye’s upcoming Australian Arts Council funded album ‘To Home Seas’ was written and recorded across geographical continents (in New Zealand, Cairns, Istanbul, Sydney) with the support of talented global musicians. Behiye will launch the album through the Undercover Music/Rouseabout Records folk label in September 2020.

Fearless Voices – Why me? Why this work?
Why is this my life purpose? This is best answered through a story, so let me tell it to you....it is the story about a fearless voice that was buried deep inside of me, that found her way out through music. As I mentioned in a recent post, she's the reason I'm a...
Fearless Voices – What is it?
At 3.00 o'clock last Saturday morning, I woke up hearing the name of this project in my mind - Fearless Voices. It was literally a wake up call to start doing the work I feel inspired to do - to guide people in a creative process to intuitively uncover their inner...
Let me tell you a story…about my new album
Let me tell you a story...about a fearless voice that was buried deep inside of me and found her way out through music. She is the reason I'm a storyteller and the reason I sing. She is my muse. The new album, To Home Seas, is dedicated to her. The songs penned...
Invisibility …. why do we hide?
We become invisible when we hide behind relationships, because we are afraid of life and want to be ‘rescued’.
